Default Femara loophole

Hi ladies--
I went to pick up my Femara to start today (cd3) and was expecting to pay like $100 because my insurance doesn't pay for fertility medication. Well I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I only owed $20 copay. Since Femara is a breast cancer medication for post-menopausal women, they don't consider it a fertility drug. I still wonder why or how they decided to use a drug for breast cancer in post-menopausal women for fertiliy. I don't know what a aromatose inhibitor is. But I am letting go of control and trusting my very respected doctor and God...and eeeeek hope this does the trick.

Onespermy...are you freaked out at taking such a "new" drug?

Jules8, I am taking Femera, and it is the ONLY drug that makes me ovulate. I am sure you will be pleased with it!

This is not really considered a "new" drug here in Canada - they have been using it for years..it is simply not a "first choice" drug - Clomid still is.

Excellent news it is cheaper than you thought! Hoping it does the trick for you!
