Default Good news.

Well I went to a Rheumatologist and really learned a lot. He doesn't think I have Lupus. He said that I most likely have antiphospholipid syndrome, even though all of my antiphospholipids were negative. Apparently you can have a positive ana and a positive lupus anticoagulent and have this. This syndrome causes blood clots to form and your blood is thicker, so it can send a clot to the placenta and cause a m/c. The treatment plan is heparin and asa during pregnancy. He ran one more test and we will know for sure, but he said he felt pretty confident that this is what it is. We'll see. Sounds much better and I feel a little more confident with IVf now.

I'm glad you have a dr that's willing to look deeper into your problem. It sounds like you are on the right track.

Good Luck.

So glad you don't have lupus! The heprin is not too bad. I am getting used to giving myself the shots. Hope this does it for you. So glad you will soon find out if your DR is right and you will be on your way. Good luck
Becky

I'm glad things are getting cleared up - doesn't it feel good to have some answers?

The ASA/heparin therapy isn't bad. The worst part about the shots is the bruising, but the shots themselves don't hurt. You'll be a pro in no time.
