Default HCG - what to expect?

Okay, so I will be having an ultrasound on Tuesday to check follies. Hopefully that will be followed by an hcg shot immediately following. Dr. said we may do IUI that day or the next day. He said he'd talk to me more about it on tues. once we see what the u/s shows.

So, this will be my first time with hcg. What can i expect as far as procedure, timing, and after-effects go?

The only thing I can tell you is that the shot can cause *pg* type symptoms in the 2ww. The shot itself is nothing.

Since the trigger shot is THE pg hormone, you may very have pg symptoms throughout the 2ww, which stinks. My side effects are

and bloating. As far as your timing, I definitely wouldn't do the IUI the same day. Wait at least 24 hours if you're doing a single IUI.

Definitely do the IUI 24 hours later.

I never had any problems with the shot as far as burning or stinging...it WILL give you identical pg symptoms sadly and can take 10-14 days to leave your system so may trigger a false BFP..hang in there til 14dpiui before testing if you can!
