Default home pg tests

I have a friend that had IVF done and last friday had a day 6 transfer last Friday with 2 embryos. She goes back to the Dr. on Saturday to have blood tests done to see if she's pg or not. She is now frusterated because the home pg tests that she'e taken are negative. I'm wondering if any of you have experienced this? Hopefully with positive results in the end!

Hello there,

I did IVF back in Feb /06. I had a 3 day embryo transfer and then took a hpt 10 days later. It only came up with the faintest faintest positive line. DH and I figured it was a negative because it was too faint. The next day was my schedualed day for the blood work and that morning it came up darker but still faint. So, for your friend, I would say don't rely on the hpt before she is schedualed to do the blood test with the dr's office. It could be too early for her to tell with the hpt.

Also my sister did IVF as well and got pg with twins. When she did a hpt 9 days after a 5 day embryo transfer it showed up negative. It showed a faint positive the next day on day 10 (post 5 day transfer)

Hope that helps,
