Default HPT vs OPK

I ordered cheap HPT and OPK's from saveontests.com. They seem to work great. I have heard that you can test for a pregnancy using OPK's. Is this true? If so, why would they work?

Lisa, I have heard that too, but I'm not sure how it works.

It is not as reliable I have found since OPK's detect LH NOT HCG...but some claim it does work...

I have also heard people say this works...I'm suspicious because I don't know how a test that detects LH can detect hCG...I'd just stick to the HPT's.
