My cycles were w/o progestrone support. They gave me 3 HCG shots, I will be doing a FET in 2 wks w/ the same protocol. My cycle will be pretty much natural. Originally I was shocked it worked, but it did. I had 1 embryo transferred and it took. My cycle cost around $3500 just like you mentioned, and they freeze your remaining embryos for the life of the marriage. Just wanted to answer your question from a previous post and once again welcome you to the boards. Wishing you the best for your upcoming cycle.

Thanks Trisha, that's really interesting - how does that work?. Do you mean you only ever had three HCG shots for the entire cycle? At what point did you receive them and how did you make multiple eggs? (sorry to bombard you with so many questions - since I'm still learning I find all this stuff fascinating plus wanted to be a Dr when I was little) You mentioned the first transfer worked, so are you now trying for a second baby? Are you in the US? :-)

Good luck with your transfer!

jjello,
I did my original cycle in Japan, I did not use birth control or lupron. My entire cycle was 28 days long. I started sniffing suprecat(sp) on day 2, and continued until day 7 on day 4 I started receiving injections from the nurses at my clinic 1 every 2 days, I believe it was stim shots (HMG) then on or about day 11 I recv'd my HCG shot and 24 hrs later I went in for retrieval. of the eggs they retrieved 17 beautiful embies were made. They froze them on day 2 because I developed OHSS, I had to wait a complete cycle until I could do transfer. They transfered 1 embie on CD 14 and 14days later I had a positive urine test at the clinic, they did no betas and I did not have support, I did get HCG injections a total of 3, 1 every 4 days. After my positive and verification of the heartbeat my doctor said see yah. I am trying for # 2 this month, those little embies are calling my name. I will be traveling to Japan, it will be hard this time because I won't have my translator there w/ me, hopefully things will work out though. I am very inquisitive about different protocols also, I read so much about how cycles were done in the US and had little faith in the Japanese version, but to my surprise it worked. Wishing you luck on your cycle also.

Good luck Trisha, and "Gamubati"

I'd go with you if I wasn't all knocked up. I haven't been to Japan in ten years and am missing it badly. Have fun and relax and come back here with good news. Leslie
