Default Metformin

I finally got my fasting insulin levels back, and it is 18.5. "Normal" is up to 27, but my RE said that most RE's put anyone over 18 on Metformin. So, I am back on it as of tonight!

The RE said that she now wants me to sit out a cycle after I am done with the BCP's
so now while I got the script I wanted I am delayed Yet Again. Then she wants me to maybe do a clomid/injectibles cycle. I am not so sure I want to bother with that.

What are the thoughts of the experts? Should I:

- try the clomid/metformin cycle?
- go with 8 amps of Bravelle/day (since I did not respond to the 4 amps)
- try a lower dose of Bravelle (maybe 6 amps) since I am no on Metformin?

I had been on Metformin for over three months when I responded very well to 4 amps of Follistim last time.

I take Met also. Your levels mean little to me since here in Canada our numbers are much level was initally well over 200 and I think under 80 is normal here! It has seemed to help with my cycles so hoping it does the same for you!

One thing that seems to differ between countries also is the use of Met while is strictly prohibited here due to possible side effects on fetus if you do concieve - that said people in US seem to do it all the time from what I see others say!

My cycles were also done with a Clomid/Puregon (injectible) cycle...supposed to have greater success stimulating the "hard" ones according to our clinic!

Myself, I would do the third choice if you're not going to do the Met. It seems logical to me that with your level being 18.5 and 18 is the cut-off, you're not in serious need of the Met.
I would think that an increase up to 6 Bravelle from 4 is significant and may be enough to trigger a good response. I think 8 is a little scary...
