Smile New Member... Saying hello! (Xpost from New Member forum)

Hello All,
I stumbled across this set of boards while doing some research into donor insemination, and am glad I did. I browsed a little, and decided I had to join up. I'll be spending most of my time in the Donor Insemination threads.
My name is Kristen, and I'm 28 (ok, not till February 22nd, but close enough). My husband is Brad, 27 (28 in July). We're from Winnipeg, Manitoba. We've been TTCing on and off since May, 2005.
We suffer from severe male factor infertility. DH has a chromosomal abnormality, in that he produces testosterone, but does not produce sperm at all.
We've discussed adoption and donor insemination. While adoption is a wonderful option, DH and I feel that there is too much beyond our control with this option, so we've agreed to go for the donor insemination.
We have an appointment for an initial consult at Heartland Fertility Clinic here in Winnipeg on February 28th, so I won't have too much to update between now and then, but I look forward to getting to know everyone on the boards a little better.
Ok, that's my introduction, now I'm off to read some threads in this forum.
Have a great day!
Kristen

Just wanted to say

to TBC and

to you on your TTC journey! I hope you have a quick and successful DI, and are soon able to move over to a Due Date board.

Good luck to you!! DI is a wonderful option and has been a blessing for us as we too have severe male factor infertility. It is a roller coaster ride but one well worth it. Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones that gets pg the first or second try!

Thanks for the welcomes and the positive wishes, it means a lot to know that you guys are so welcoming.
TNBabyRN, do you mind me asking how many tries it took you to conceive via DI? I'm not sure what to expect. I've read so many different statistics on success rates, and so many differ one extreme to the next, so drawing on personal experiences seems to be a little easier.
Thanks again!
