Default Precautions for avoiding Ovarion Hyperstimulation!!

After reading so many stories on this forum and many others online I am getting concerned about ovarian Hyperstuimulation. I am 23 and going to start my first round of IVF in near future. I have my meds which include Follistim and Cetrotide. With this age, my dr also flagged the possibility of ovHs.

Are there any set of precautions to avoid Ovarian Hyperstimulation?

Well OHS (ovarian hyperstimulation), is what actually happens during IVF, it's the process of our ovaries producing multiple follies. I think what you're concerned about is OHSS (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome).

Try not to worry about this, it is a risk, and that's why he has to mention it, but your Dr will be monitoring you very closely with transvaginal ultrasound scans and checking your E2 levels. I was scanned after 5 days of stimming and then every other day right up until egg collection.

You might find this fact-sheet helpful...

The only thing you can do to help a little is to drink plenty of water, milk or fruit juice (about 2-3 quarts a day), and do everything the Dr says.

You're gonna be fine hon
