Glinda...your not kidding about my cashews being under alot of padding (more than I should have). I guess it turned out to be a good thing that my belly is growing so big, so fast

I'm so happy for you and your 2 little miracles, I can't wait until we all get to experience it. My body is really sore, but I think the cramps are lessening a bit (watch, I probably just jinxed myself). Any of you hear of getting the babies tested for downs syndrome at 12 weeks? My doctors office does a fairly new test on all moms over 35 that is non invasive that tests for it at 12 weeks and is 92% accurate. I won't have to wait until 20 weeks! Not that it would make a difference with me anyway, but it's nice to know. My test is in 2 weeks and I get to have another ultrasound...YIPPEE! Well, I must go find a good unhealthy snack. Missy

Missy, Are you talking about the CVS test? I just checked with a Doc at my work and she said if it is the CVS you are probably better off waiting for the amnio...lower risk of mc. I'm sure your Doc has given you all the pros and cons...glad your appetite is good

I didn't do an amnio or CVS. I did the nuchal translucency test which is done around 12 weeks. It is non-invasive but not a new test. The nuchal fold (back of neck) is measured and 5 drops of blood are taken from your finger. The results give you the likelihood (%) of having a baby with trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and trisomy 18. There are some other tests out there.

I'm having the same one that Glinda had. I don't want anything invasive...no amnio for me! My doc said that if I don't do this other test, then he would recommend (because of my age) one of the other invasive tests. Leslie, are you having an amnio?

I'm so glad you guys mentioned these tests because I'm wondering whether I should have one myself - if I should ever be so lucky to be in that position! There is still so much I need to learn! I'm 38.

Anyway Missy, it sounds like you're doing better and I'm really glad!
