Default sperm life

Hi, everyone. I'm getting ready to try again. Last cycle my egg showed up early and donor couldn't overnight to me in time. I have read that sperm live 48 hours outside of body, does that include after they are inseminated? Does anyone know much about cooled semen as opposed to frozen? I start opk tomorrow, any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Amanda

I have little knowledge about sperm survival outside of the human body, but fresh sperm can live as long as 72 hours inside the female. I have doubts about sperm living 48 hours outside the body since when I did my successful ICI at home, our bank thawed the sample for us, I put it into my bra in the test tube for the 30 minute ride home and they told us to use it within the hour. Good luck with your timing this month!

Fresh samples are supposed to be viable for UP TO 72 hours and frozen (thawed) samples UP TO 24 hours according to our clinic...
