Default started clomid again

I am playing with my clomid prescription and being a bad patient! I have three left from a cancelled cycle and thought I would take them with my normal dosage. Usually I take 50 mg days 5-9...this time, I will take 100 mg on three of those days. I KNOW I should talk to the doctor but I'm not going to. She told me she would put me up to 100 mg if I wanted to although she doesn't think it's neccessary since I'm Oing with the 50. I guess I'm just wanting MORE eggs for the sperm to find. We are down to three tries and I'm getting a little antsy.

I was so excited because this cycle will have the insemination fall on a weekday! So, I called the doctor's office to schedule my U/S which will be next Wednesday and guess what? They don't have anyone in the office to do the U/S so I will have to go to the hospital to have it done by some stranger. UGH! I'm planning to call the office again to figure out how the logistics. How will we plan when to do the IUI if the doc who does tham isn't there to see the follies and lining? What about the HcG shot? It is so irritating. I can not stand this doctor's office! (I imagine I will love them once I finally get pregnant though!)

I'm not going to tell you to not self medicate because I'd be a hypocrite. However, I know what the effects are on my body. Just remember the results may not be what you want - more eggs. If you're going to do this then add the 3 additional 50 mg of clomid to days 7, 8 and 9. You'd rather have the level go up than drop. Just don't skip any u/s.

As for the scheduling at your dr's office, since the dr will not be in on Wednesday, can you have the u/s on Tuesday or Thursday so you won't have to deal with a different place and a stranger. What day of your cycle do you want to schedule this u/s for? I find it odd that no one who will be working on Wednesday is capable of doing an u/s. At this point, even I can do one

. The dr can do the IUI without having done the u/s. The dr will have the report indicating lining and follie(s) size(s).

To be honest, this dr's office is not set up for getting women pg with ART. You must have someone available during the week for u/s and IUIs. If they are closed on weekends then they need a back-up place to send you to.

Let us know what happens.

Please be very careful as this can be very dangerous...I am not a fan of self-medicating at all! Definitely make sure you are monitored with u/s or b/w to make sure you do not overstim!

I was on 100 mg of Clomid days 5-9. PErsonally I think it's fine. It's not like you are totally changing yoru protocol. Just tell the doc after the fact. Forgiveness vs Permission. It's not like you are taking a new drug, etc. My friend was on 150mg of CLomid and one month decided to go back to 50 w/o telling her doc and got pg that month. 100 mg usually gave me 2-3 mature follies. I wish you luck CB!!

I'm not a fan of self-medicating either, but Glinda does know her stuff. Definitely make sure you have that u/s - whether Tuesday or Thursday or Wednesday at the hospital. I wish you luck!
