Default happy news!

Okay...Friday was a piece of cake-they got 14 follies, which at the time they said were mature. I got a call just now and the nurse said that actually 11 were mature enough to fertilize and that I had a 100% response rate!!! I can't believe it! She told me that it was unheard of to get 100% so needless to say I am thrilled and thankful!

Now we wait until either Monday or Wednesday to transplant the little babies! I'm hoping we can go to blast, b/c my dh and I are only willing to have 2 put back in...also took my first IM shot last night-it hurt less than the gonal-F did. I was really surprised by how easy it was. I iced 1st and warmed the oil while icing and I barely even felt the needle...I hope I have to give that shot for the next several months!

Well that's great Bonnie! My advice after transfer is...Don't do ANYTHING for like three days. My Dr. said it doesn't matter but I think it totally does. My first transfer didn't work and I think it has a lot to do with not resting and taking it easy. My second one I laid around and viola! Good luck. See? And you thought you were only going to get four! Leslie

Thanks Leslie! I'm considering standing on my head for a few days!! I WILL take it easy-my dh is really good at getting me to rest...even today, I told him I was going to get on my bike and he strongly encouraged me to just take a walk...which I will do. I haven't spent all this energy, time, and money to ruin things by not resting! Thanks for the advice and encouragement!

Congratulations Bonnie! I'm so glad the retrieval was easy and your response rate so good! I'm wishing you lots of luck with the transfer.

Here's my transfer recipe

Eat pineapple (the bromelain helps with implantation), pasta (I once read an article about sticky carbs) and a glass of white wine. I rarely drink. I realized on the cycles I did have wine, I got pg. My clinic gives you a valium prior to transfer to relax you. I figured 1 glass of wine on the evening of transfer would add to the relaxation of my uterus and make it ripe for an embryo or 2.

My clinic tells you to stay in bed for 2 to 3 days. I couldn't stay in bed. I did nothing more than walking with the dogs (and shopping of course).

Good Luck!
