Default third beta

hello. Had my third beta today. It was 3,328, up from 92 last thursday. My progesterone level was 21.2. I would be feeling pretty great about this but the RE said that I need to go back on tuesday for an ultrasound to see if the pregnancy is ectopic. I totally didn't see this coming. She said that since my first beta was only a 36, that could be indicative of a tubal pregnancy. Does anyone know how possible this is? I've done some research, and I don't think I have any of the symptoms, but she said many times women don't exhibit them which is why it can be so dangerous. I can't even describe in words how I am so at the end of my rope with all these obstacles. And so...the waiting continues

You know what, it sounds like they're just being TOTALLY conservative. Don't even worry about it. You just hang in there and you'll be fine! Sometimes these people make me crazy having everyone worry so much. Why would it be eptopic? It sounds like everything is going great to me!! Leslie

I'm so sorry Laura that you can't just enjoy this moment, which should be happy. But try to keep positive, after all the RE is just doing her job. I'm praying that all turns out well and that you'll get to celebrate soon!!

I haven't done IVF, but I am one of those people with low beta levels that went on to have a successful pregnancy. At 12 DPO my beta was 3 and my progesterone was 11. And that was with TRIPLETS implanting! I never took any progesterone. I figured that if the baby was meant to stick it would. (I had undergone over two years of fertility treatments.)

So don't worry too much (easier said than done). Your docs are just being very cautious with you.

Have a happy and healthy nine months!

Laura,

Just look at the silver lining with the ultrasound.....On thursday you will actually see the beginning of your new little peanut (much earlier than most people). You'll see for your own eyes that it is real and doing wonderful. Your numbers sound great to me. Enjoy the next 9 months. Missy
