Thank you so much for the positive thoughts!! Amy, that is an incredible story!!! When did you have your triplets? Were they concerned that you never took progesterone? Right now the progesterone is the worst part, I can barely sit down!! RE said that they wouldn't be able to detect the heartbeat tuesday, it is too early. Does anyone know if they can tell for sure if there is more than one at that time? Laura

I didn't want to add this part, but I did lose two of the triplets around nine weeks. I never took progesterone. My level did eventually go up to around 18 or so but never as high as they want it. I hated progesterone and just left everything up to fate. After all, I wasn't on any fertility drugs when I conceived and had actually given up since I was told only two months prior that I would never have another child.

They can definitely tell how many implanted by how many gestational sacs there are. However, there may not be a baby developing in every sac, so if you see multiples don't panic. Wait until you are far enough along to see a heart beat (around six weeks gestation).

Good luck! You definitely have at least one healthy baby in there!

Laura, how did the u/s go? I don't think your beta was indicative of a tubal pg. When you have an ectopic pg, the numbers don't double properly. Your numbers did real well. However, a low progesterone level might signify an ectopic pg. I can't say for sure that your number is low for a natural cycle because I don't know how your body normally responds. (While rare, it is possible to have both an uterine pg and a tubal pg) My clinic would definitely have put you on supplements to increase your level.

The heartbeat usually shows up around 6 to 7 weeks. One of my drs had an amazing doppler u/s machine so he was able to detect the sac at 12dpt. The following week, another sac showed upm on the monitor.

Hi everyone. It was such a frustrating day on tuesday. We did the u/s out of office b/c the office u/s was booked. The tech identified the sac, only one, in the uterus and we saw the heart beating. It was such a relief to finally feel that everything was ok. We went to the office and the doc said that she should have been able to get a heartrate. She wants to do another one, and now we are nervous. The doc gets the heart rate and tells us that it is on the low side. I was 6w2d and it should have been measuring over 100. It was 101, 95, 98, 93. She will not release me to my ob and I have to go back on tuesday for another us to check for growth. I just cried. The doc has no bed side manner, she left after that. The RE said it was an early 6w u/s and they will know more tuesday. I am measuring at 6w 2d, but the gestational sac is 5w 1d. The re said she has seen "stranger things happen", for example, the sac catching up in a week. That expression made me cry harder. I just don't know what to think anymore. Laura
