So I signed up Andrew and Sarah for a Star Wars party/Event at our city's rec center today.

I've been majorly busy but I knew that they'd want to wear costumes.
Sure enough, Andrew asked if he could be Old Ben Kenobi and he was very specific in his wardrobe....
I had to oblidge.

Sarah, not to be out done, had to then have a costume too. She specified (without being asked) that she wanted to be Leiah in the white dress with the hood etc.

So I ran to walmart last night and got a couple yards of the only chocolate brown material (besides fleece) they had. A stretchy lightweight something and some creme colored broadcloth.

an hour later, I had a robe and the little strips that go down the fronts of the costumes.
As soon as Andrew woke up (I started it after he went to bed last night) he asked where his costume was.
He was pleased as punch to have it on and I think he would sleep in it if he thought he'd be allowed.

Sarah - - I already had made myself a costume about 10 or 12 years ago so I pulled it out, and cut the arms and trimmed a bunch on the bottom and hoped it would fit her 'good enough'.
Sure enough, it looked wonderful on her.

She was in absolute heaven. The wig fit her too (I had that for 12 years as well)

At the party - I had all sorts of people ask me where I got their costumes.

Under Andrew's costume, he wore regular khaki pants and a black t-shirt. then I put on a black belt of mine (with holes going all the way down the leather so it would fit him (excess was held in a rubber band in the back).

I was actually pretty impressed with myself.

Very cool costumes! Now they are set for Halloween!!!! Do you think that excuse will work or are you going to go all out on their costumes this yr?

Fabulous! Costumes are soooo time consuming to put together! Let's hope they don't change their minds before then!
