Ladies - the front of my townhouse is UGLY. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. I need some suggestions to make it look prettier. Hopefully today I can go buy some flowers or shrubs to plant in the bay window area shrub bed. So I need some suggestions - what would you do/plant?
Oh - the plant in there now is going to be pulled (along with the weeds of course. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. ) Also I plan on buying some stones to build more of a wall in front instead of the ugly pieces of wood.

In place of the shrub that is there you could put a crepe myrtle.. those are very nice and come in smaller sizes. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Try some daylilies so you don't have to replant every year. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 15 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I'd suggest you search your area for the nearest native plant nursery. Using native plants is the best way to ensure that whatever you plant will survive your climate. Not only that you can bring in wildlife using native plants from butterflies to squirrels and birds.
The nursery owner would be more than happy to help I'm sure. In my area the nearest one to me came out to my house and told me what I could plant where for free. He said he'd do a full site plan on paper for $50, and I didn't think that was too bad a price either. I just took notes when he came over.
Anyway, native plants are a great way to be green, give back to the environment and feel good about what you plant. I included some pictures of some of the native plants in my yard. They are from at least a year ago, and all of the plants pictured have at least doubled in size with more flowers and lush growth.
