Admitting it is the first step...I am a paper junkie! I keep flyers, newspaper, magazines, paper files, all that crud so long...I end up with piles of it all over the house waiting for it to be sorted. It drives DP mental and frankly, me too at times.

One thing that has helped so far is to put my paper recycling bag in the mudroom...our front entrance way...and at least I can sort out the junk mail when I come in the door.

Any tips for the rest of it though? I try to file and just end up with unsorted piles on different levels of the house. I have suggested that a filing cabinet near the front entrance would help but DP doesn't want it anywhere near the kitchen...I'll try and post pix (when my home system is back on long) and show you what I mean....

One thing that helps me cut down on my paper trail is going through the mail the INSTANT I get it from the box. I immediately open everything and since we pay our bills online, I throw away return envelopes, shred junk mail, and put the important things in a "bill" pile.

My big admission is that I'm just lazy!

Really, though, I have lots of times when I can't stop cleaning, and I have other totally opposite times when I see the mess and choose not to clean it up.

I can't STAND a messy kitchen so I do keep the kitchen clean, but other stuff goes by the wayside while I keep that one room clean.

My house has been taken over by toys. I can't believe that one child could have this many toys. I don't know what to do about that, he definetely doesn't play with all these toys.

I always collect papers and magazines and I never get rid of them, I always say I might use a recipe from that magazine or whatever...and then a year later when I still haven't, I finally throw it out, but sometimes I keep it for even longer.

I can totally relate with the toys. We have soooo many toys that we need to get rid of some or there will be no room for Christmas toys. We hid a lot of the baby toys away in storage ottomans we have in the basement and recently came downstairs to see our 3 1/2 yr old playing with them all again.

She found them in the ottoman which we didn't know she knew opened up. My neighbor is having a little girl in January so I'm going to see what she wants of our DD's clothes and toys.

I am sitting here printing out pictures of "Dora" "Little People" and a few other things so I can put them on bins we have in the basement and my DD will know where things go by looking at the pictures.

(Hopefully)

I have so many magazines that I was keeping that I finally made a binder and ripped out articles or craft things that I may want to use someday and threw out the rest of the magazine. I have a 3 hole punch and punched the sides and put them in the binder and labeled sections. Some articles were when she gets a bit older.

Clutter drives my DH crazy and I feel like we are constantly in clutter in our house.

My biggest downfall is putting away laundry. I don't mind washing everything, but folding it and putting away I hate.

I end up living out of a laundry basket of clean clothes. My DH does his own laundry so it doesn't bother him except that it is on the floor in front of my dresser.
