Arrow "How do you expect to grow a baby on that crap?"

That's what my high-risk OB said yesterday. We were talking about why my pressures were up and here's how our converstaion went:

Doc: What'd you have for breakfast?
Me: Toast and a glass of milk.
Dock: Lunch?
Me: Turkey sandwich.
Doc: What else?
Me: Glass of tea.
Doc: What else?
Me: I was going to have a banana but had to leave and didn't.
Doc: You could have brought it--it's a portable food!
Me: I'll do that next time.
Doc: What else?
Me: Nothing.
Doc: What? How do you expect to grow a baby on that crap? That's not enough food to grow a baby! You need at least 2,200 calories a day...and that's not nearly enough! Breakfast is maybe 200 calories, maybe 400 for lunch. Are you going to eat that many calories for dinner? I doubt it.

So my question is: What do you eat for meals??

I should add that I did lose a pound from my last visit 3 weeks ago.

I am a fruit nut, so on that base, I am covered. I would make sure I am eating something *between* meals - that will get extra calories in.

You could try a meal shake like ensure or carnation. i think those are safe. I know that Slim fast isn't. Obviously, I mean these as between meals with an apple or banana or other fruit.
