in winter? any recs? I am new to living in the snow and this is hard for me to figure out- I have a 17mo old (and one on the way) and really miss getting outside, walking aroud, hiking, etc- is there a stroller I can use in snowy conditions?

I recommend an all-terrain jogging type stroller. I have the InStep Safari double stroller, and it does great in the snow. Of course, it wouldn't have enough support for a baby under 6 months, but it's great even for my four-year-old (when he's willing to ride versus walking).

I don't know how much snow you're talking about, but I live at 10,500 feet in the middle of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. 8 months out of the year we have to snowmobile to get to our house and the average amt of snow we have in our yard at any given point in the winter ranges from 7 to 9 feet. Believe me when I say that I know all about dealing with snow! For my baby shower for my 1st child, a bunch of my neighbors got together and bought me a Baby Trend baby jogger. I have to say I LOVE IT!!!! I asked why they picked that one and they said it just seemed to have the best features. Well as it turns out this stroller cost less than $100, has large wheels with rear shocks, folds nicely, will work with a car seat for when your child is really small, has lots of pockets for yours and baby's stuff, and the front wheel can either lock in place or swivel for when you need to navigate tighter spots. A few of my mommy friends have other, more expensive joggers, including the coveted "Chariot" and all really liked my stroller the best for child comfort, ease of use, and of course cost. (the Chariot starts around $400!)
