Thumbs up Baby Essentials

Ladies, let's post a list of essentials to have on hand when you welcome home your bundle of joy.
Post your ideas and I'll add them to the list!!

Must Haves
  • Car Seat (contact local fire department for proper installation)
  • Wipes
  • Diapers
  • T-shirts (until the cord falls off--then onesies)
  • Hats and socks
  • Burp Cloths
  • Vaseline (especially if Baby is a boy and had a circ)
  • Alcohol swabs or cotton balls
  • Baby nail file (no clippers for the first few weeks)
  • Baby Bath
  • Baby wash/clothes/towels
  • Sterilized bottles/nipples if bottle feeding
  • Breast pads, breast pump if breastfeeding
  • Lansinoh or equivalent if breastfeeding
  • Boppy Pillow
  • Bassinet or Pack 'N Play for sleeping during the first weeks/months
  • Thermometer
  • Swaddling blankets or manufactured wraps
  • Antibacterial handwash (for visitors)
  • Pediatrician phone number on hand
  • Some frozen meals for quick EASY dinners

Nice to Haves
  • Infant swing
  • Changing table
  • Crib (most babies don't use the crib for at least a few weeks)
  • Stroller (Baby probably won't be "strolling" for a few weeks)
  • Bouncer Seat
