Default surprise adjustment issues

Well, I'm totally shocked by what's been happening at our house the past few days. Matthew's been fine... and Josh has been a basket case!

It's weird, because he ADORES Brady. He's on top of him a lot of the time, telling us we need to change his diaper/ feed him/ bathe him/ etc. But when he's not doing that, he's smarting off, hitting his brother, having tantrums, screaming no, jumping off the furniture, crazy stuff he never does. He got in a bunch of trouble tonight and wound up getting sent to his room. I hear him up there saying "Josh is the baddest baddest baddest boy ever."

I talked to him later and told him he is not the "baddest boy ever."

I think it's more that his routine is disrupted than anything else. He likes routine and knowing what will happen next, etc.

:lurking: Sorry he is having a hard time right now. It is totally understandable though. I know that with my two, they love their routine and when it is off...look out. It doesn't matter if the routine is off for snow days or a new family member. LOL!

I hope things get smoother for you guys very soon. Sounds like he really loves the new baby!

Actually, my mom always took the kids on Monday and Friday afternoons when I was working. I think that I'm going to start alternating who goes and who stays home--- I'll keep Josh home one time and Matthew the next. This way I'll have some time with each of the kids.
