Talking Today's Appointment

Was fun! I had the one hour glucose screening, they took me back and did my vitals first and then sent me to the lab. I drank the orange stuff (it really wasn't that bad and I was so thirsty at that point it wouldn't have mattered...LOL). After I drank it I went to see the midwife. She measured me and said I was measuring 27 weeks today, which is perfect. Then she pushed and felt my uterus and the baby and said he's already in the head down position and she explained to me where all his parts were! It was fun to find out because I had no idea...this whole time I've been thinking his rear end was his head...poor little guy...oh well he'll grow up to be a man and I'm sure at some point I'll be inclined to believe his rear end is on his shoulders again....

But they also checked my urine and my iron and they were both good. My midwife says she thinks he'll be a March baby, but an early March baby (DD is the 12th). She said she thinks he's about 2 lbs now and she showed me a model of a baby to compare in size! I gained 3 lbs so I'm at a total of six now and she said that was fine, and she'd like to see me keep it around 20 lbs. total. I think I can handle that! She said it's time to start my every 2 weeks appointments but since Xmas falls 2 weeks from this week, we'd carry it 3 this time. So I go back on Dec 31st!

She said they'd call me in the next few days if my glucose results were abnormal but if I hadn't heard from them by Friday I'm fine!
They also gave me my pre registration form for the hospital and talked about signing up for classes today!

It was a really fun appointment and made things even more real, DH had to work and I really hate that he missed it. But I made sure he could come to the next one and we have the 4D U/S on the 28th.

I'm getting super excited! Plus my baby shower has been planned for Jan 10th AND I graduate with my Bachelor's degree this weekend so I'm having a really great week!

And tomorrow's my last day at work and then I'll be a SAHM and Student!!!! YAY!
