Epidural!

Go to the childbirth classes offered by the hospital. It will help reassure your worries.

Definitely don't shy away from pain relief. Even if you don't want to do an epidural, some IV pain medication helps to take the edge off the pain. I did an epidural the first time, and it was awesome! The second time, things went too fast for an epidural, but the pain meds helped me not to care too much that it hurt

The worst pain only lasted about 12 minutes, and it was bearable.

Just remember that you can do this. Find out as much as you can beforehand from the hospital classes, ask questions to make yourself knowledgeable, and you'll be ok.
