OK!!! LADIES TTC HELP

I started my period Friday September 9^th yesterday September 11^th I wasn’t it bleeding it was like brown meaning I am trying to go off I had sex last night and here is the red friend again today. I will be off tonight if not already right now it is very light like panty liner type thing. My cycle is normally 3-4dyas anyhow. My dr informed me since my cycle are pretty off then normal with the time on TTC she states I ovulate ever month but my LPH phase is little longer than normal. She informed me to start testing with the ovulation kit on DAY 17 on out till I get a positive sign then have sexual intercourse. I am kinded confused because I don’t want to miss ovulation time but I don’t want to use ovulation kit everyday either because good ones are going to waste if I am tested the wrong time. I guess where I am confused at is DAY 17 for me is September 25^th so do that mean I can’t take the ovulation test until then or start testing now until DAY 17^th 18^th until that positive come. How long after your period do u starts ovulate again to try and conceive?

Depending on how long your cycle is for example if it is 28 days from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period then it would be about 14 days in that you start to ovulate again. If it helps any many women get the urge for sex really close to the same time you are ovulating. Be it the day or two before or the week of. The best thing is to try and figure out how long your cycle is, that will make things easier. Good luck!!
