The iron stores in the baby's system it acquires from the (birth)mother do start to diminish around now, and are completely gone by 4 months, which is why cereal with iron is often recommended beginning at that time. Some people don't like to start solids until 6 months, which is why the formula with iron is so important.
I don't think the doc should have mentioned so frequently
if she wasn't going to test for it. All it did was make you anxious . . .
