Default wipes vs faceclothes

What are your opinions/experiences with either of these. Aside from the cost and environmental aspect of wipes, are there more pros and cons to one of these vs the other?

I've used both. But with my last two kids (they're now older) I only used washclothes.

I used washcloths, and made my own baby wipe solution. I found it less harsh on my babies. The other commercial wipes have all these strange ingredients that sometimes irritate the baby's skin. Even the ones made for sensitive skin.

You mean for the baby's bum right?!?!

Don't use a wipe for their little faces for sure... you don't want those soaps/cleansers on their face & it could make a case of baby acne WORSE. A washcloth with clear water will do just fine.

Anyways... when my kids were BRAND NEW, I used wet (warm) paper towels for a while. Then I switched to wipes when they were about 6-8 weeks. Infant poop is runny & messy... but not really that stinky. A washcloth would also work... as would baby wipes!! Just start out with the "sensitive" wipes until you see that their tush isn't adversly affected!!

I used the towels when he was a newborn, but switched to wipes when he was about 6 months old and the poop got more messy...
