Default Gripe Water

My daugher is 7 weeks old and very colicky. Has anyone ever tried Gripe Water??? I have been using the mylicon drops and those are not working at all. I just purchased the gripe water and would like to try it out.

I used gripe water with Elizabeth. It seemed to work well for her. I diluted it with a tiny bit of water and let her suck it out of the medicine nipple thingy. I never used the mylicon drops though.

I used Mylicon with my first son for a while...
and also used Gripe Water for a while with him.

Neither CURED the colic (only time did!)... but the Gripe Water seemed to work better than the Mylicon for him.

the way gripe water and mylicon work are totally different. Mylicon is to be given with feeds and helps all the little air bubbles in the stomach gather together to form one big one so baby can burp easily and prevent all the little gas bubbles from continuining on into the intestines. Gripe water (unproven) is supposed to help more with actual intestinal gas (which is form in the intestines themselves). Some people swear by gripe water, so worth a shot! I tried both with my son and neither worked, he ended up being diagnosed with reflux, something else to keep in the back of your mind! HTH
