Unhappy Thrush

I think my baby has thrush. The insides of her cheeks and tongue have a white coating on them that won't wipe off. She is really fussy lately and when she eats she cries, however she still eats. She has a doctors appointment Monday, but i just want to know if anyone has any tips or remedies on what to do to ease her pain over the weekend. Any advice would be great!

baby Tylenol will help with the pain thats what I had to give my DS when he had it. I ended up taking him to urgent care on a sunday because it was bad and I did not want to wait but they said to keep giving him the tylenol even with the meds they gave us.

My first son had thrush.... it CAN be hard to get rid of. It's a yeast infection in the mouth and it needs antibiotics.

Are you breastfeeding?? If so, you AND your daughter will need to be treated!
They'll give you an antibiotic for your baby... and you'll get a cream for your nipples.

If you're bottle feeding &/or she uses a binky, be sure to wash everything really well with warm water & soap.

Tylenol will help with the pain. Poor little thing!

There is another remedy called Genation Violet... but it stains everything it touches PURPLE... ask your daughters pediatrition about it before you use it, but for a stubborn case, it can help.

GOOD LUCK!!

sounds like thrush, the usual treatment is an antifungal like nystatin. Some say thrush isn't painful, but my adult patients get it and say it does make their mouth "sore" so you could try the tylenol too. When my baby had it the doctor had us boil his bottle nipples until the thrush was gone. ( it took 3 treatments of 7 days each)
and She's adorable!!
