my mom tells the story about my brother (who is 2 years younger than me) and how she did all the 'don't get upset' training techniques for him and he still didn't care about being trained and wet himself.
One day, she lost it and yelled at him and had her own little tantrum and from that day forward, he was potty trained

I imagine that THAT would work for a few kids out there

For my son, he was as stubborn as nobody's business. I finally told him at 2.5 that Santa wasn't going to come
if he wasn't potty trained. In a matter of one month, he was day AND night trained and never looked back.
Sarah on the other hand... well, she's 7 years old now and she is NOT nighttime potty trained. She wets and poops herself regularly too. Well, not regularly. I should say irregularly with frequency, hows that.
She's now been passed from the pediatric urologist to the pediatric gastroenterologist to deal with the 'blockage' in her intestines. The urologist believes that the blockage (which is only partial because she does go poop, but has difficulties and requires laxatives etc) is irritating her bladder and keeping her bladder from getting the signals to her brain properly.
While they may think that... I'm not entirely convinced that's the problem but one thing is for sure.
The blockage MUST be fixed.
And it stands to reason that we get THAT issue resolved before moving on with her pee issues.
I have a feeling that we'll be finding out that she has a tethered chord and will require surgery... but we'
re a long way from that.
Her pediatric GI appointment isn't until September

(yes, it was 8 weeks out)
I am so freakin frustrated with potty training it's not even funny. I wanted all this resolved before she started school back up in september because you KNOW that the kids will start labeling her and calling her THAT girl who wets her pants in the 2nd grade
