Default More questions

Thank you ladies for answering my other questions. I am starting to feel much better mentally.

I do have another question or two... I know the Dr's like to say that after giving birth it takes about a year before you should start TTC again, but in reality it only takes 6 months for everything to heal completely. I'm sure every case is different, but how lon in reality does it take for everything to heal after a miscarriage? My Dr said to wait 2 cycles (about 3 months) to start trying again so things can heal completely, but I do wonder if that information is completely correct. Dh and I were having this conversation last night.

My other question is about progesterone levels. I've heard that if your progesterone levels are too low, that could be a big factor in miscarriage. Why don't they check those levels with pregnancy? They check other stuff with the blood tests, so why not that too? If it's such a big factor, shouldn't that be a routine thing that they check? I just don't get it!

The reason I'm asking these questions is bc I do want to have more babies, I'm just not sure exactly when. I talked to a friend last night that had almost the exact same thing happen as i did a few years ago. We had a long conversation and this is the most I've talked about everything and I was just shaking. Never felt the need to cry, but the shaking was just crazy! I almost couldn't hold the phone up to my ear! After talking to her though, I feel SO much better! But part of our conversation did have to do with timing and another part with progesterone levels (this is all stuff she's talked with her midwife about so now I wonder!) If you have it, any info on these two subjects is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my tears to keep.
My baby sleeps in Heaven's arms,
Peaceful with angelic charm.
Lord take my fears and grant me a kiss,
from the Angel Baby I so miss.

An angel in the book of life,
Wrote down our baby's birth,
And whispered as she closed the book~
"Too Beautiful for Earth."

I know nothing about progesterone, but my doc said that your body will do what is right for it in terms of getting pg after a m/c. He is a very "hands off"/trust your body type of doc. Another doc in his practice told me to wait the 2-3 cycles to try after my m/c at 7 weeks, and dh and I waited-I only found out after the fact what this other doc's opinion was.
Good luck-I am happy to hear that you are starting to feel better!

Progesterone levels can be a factor, but they generally don't check for that unless you're doing fertility work. Mine was low and I was on some kind of progesterone the whole time I was TTC. I'm thinking that if you had a lot of spotting during early pg but everything looked OK otherwise, they might check it.

When I had my d&c they told me to wait 2 cycles. My RE said after sitting out 1 cycle i could have b/w done to see if i was "ready" to go again. I chose not to, because i just wasn't mentally ready.

I know that the hormones and stuff do play a big part. My hairstylist knew about the miscarriage and she noticed that I had hair regrowth (on my head) that was right in line with my miscarriage. I didn't even think about it until I saw that hair growing in like it did after Josh and Matthew. I know that sounds so insignificant but it made me realize how much hormonally does happen during a m/c even though we may be pg such a short time.

My doctors never gave me a time line on waiting after my m/c's. I just waited till dh and I were ready.
when I got pregnant with my third (5th counting live children) I called a doctors office and wanted progesterone levels checked because I just start
bleeding with my m/c.I argued with the nurse as she said in her years with the practice she never heard such a test. Long story short alot of ob's don't really understand the fertillity part witch I guess is where the progesterone falls into.
Like the others said they will check it if you are getting fertillity treatments or you have an ob that really listens to you.
But yes progesterone plays a part in pregnancy a Big part if you ask me.

I understand your feelings Christine believe me. I hope the ob will listen to your concerns
