Thumbs up Exercise and Pregnancy

Some things to remember while exercising and pregnant:
Always pay attention to your body! If you feel dizzy, nauseated, or short of breath stop immediately. Be wary of laying on your back and exercising, especially during the last stages of your pregnancy, it could cause heart palpatations.

Benifits of exercise during pregnancy:
exercise brings breath to your body (as long as you remember to keep breathing)

which in turn brings oxygen to your baby. Moving while you're pregnant also gets your baby moving, starting good movement habits from a very young age. Mild exercise (even just walking around your living room) is known to help with morning sickness (by helping digestion along). Regular exercise will help with labor pains and also get your body back in shape quickly after the baby comes.

Some low-impact exercise forms to look in to:
There are a lot of low-impact (not aerobic) exercises that are beneficial and many prenatal books have been written. Check out these options for exercise:
Pilates
Yoga
Tai chi
Laban Movement

I loved to excercise when Pregnant, it made me feel good even though my body was getting so big, I felt big, but defined.

Great tips!

I walked, fast walking, almost everyday for my last pregnancy. I felt great. I was my easiest delivery of my 3 kids. I'm sure staying fit really helped.

I have a pilates machine and it has a trampoline attached to it for aerobic exercise. Can I keep using these, at least in early pregnancy? (I've heard that I shouldn't do exercise that involves lying on my back later in pregancy). I've not been doing the aerobic part of the routine for the past couple of week because (and I realize that this sounds paranoid) I was TTC and didn't want to risk aerobic exercise during implantation. But now I'd like to start again.
