Question Headaches

Do you find you're having more headaches while pg? How do you know if these are normal or pre-eclampsia?

I had severe headaches when I was pg in my first trimester.
Drs all told me that it was part of the 'morning sickness' that some women get.
Actually, Dr said that for some people who normally get headaches, pregnancy makes them go away, and for some who never get them... they have horrid ones... sort of like the whole acne/zit thing. I had horrid skin while pregnant too

As the pregnancies went on, the headaches went away same as the morning sickness. (and no, I wasn't going thru caffeine withdrawls). I did have preeclampsia with DD and I did not get headaches toward the end (when I got the preeclampsia).

I didn't have headaches or m/s with Dewey. I got the occasional headache, but I wouldn't have considered it anything abnormal. I never get headaches in general when not pg. However, this pregnancy I have gotten them so bad (and m/s too, wierd you mention that Karen) that my dr actually gave me Tylenol #3 to take with them. I haven't taken one yet, but have the script if I need it. I am pretty certain it's not bp related, although at my appt on Monday my bp was 138/70, normal for me is 120/70. I hope it's just hormonal and not a sign of preeclamsia to come, eek.

I've been getting more headaches that usual as well. As long as your BP is not elevated, and you're not experiencing excessive swelling, I wouldn't worry about it.
