Exclamation nutrition help!!

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant, and my midwife is making me see a nutritionist twice a week. I have lost 26 lbs since i have become pregnant. I have never thrown up this entire pregnancy, not once. I was tested for an overactive thyroid which was negative. All of the foods my nutritionist suggests, make my stomach turn, i'm completely disgusted by meat in general now days, and need protein in my diet. My midwife wants me to gain all 26 lbs back ANd then some. She makes me write a food diary ensuring i eat at least every hour and a half, and snack throughout the day. any suggestions as to what i should eat, or do differently, thank you

26 lbs is ALOT! I can see why there is concern. I am a vegetarian and had no problems maintaining my diet while pregnant with my first or with this onw (11 wks). Can you stomach cheese? It has a good amount of fat and could help you put on some pounds. Quesadillas are a fav of mine when I am nauseous. Also, if you like avocado- that is a healthy vegetarian fat. If you can stomach beans, they are a good source or protein- maybe a beans, rice and cheese burrito? I would suggest to your nutritionist that you can't eat meat right now- and if she doesn't help you with a good vegetarian diet I would find another nutritionist! They have to know that you can't stomach certain things when you are preggers! Good luck and keep us updated!
