Default Stretchmarks: Pls help...

I am pregnant and want to know if anyone has had any luck with skin care for stopping stretchmarks? I have heard that some are not safe to use and can harm my baby but I am so confused by which ones are ok and actually work to prevent stretchmarks, as I happily grow into my 9 month bump!

I am of no use - I don't think you can stop them. I just consider mine my battle scars and a reminder of the wonderful little girl I have. I did all the creams etc the first time with no luck.

Some women just have more elasticity in their skin and get lucky!

Congratualtions on your pregnancy!!

Yep--there's really nothing topical that can stop stretchmarks. I have very little elasticity in my skin but I faithfully applied belly butter during my first pregnancy. To may initial dismay, I ended up with a boatload of stretchmarks.

Now I also look at them as marks of love for my children. My husband loves me the way I am so there's no use in worrying about it.

Congrats again and welcome to TBC!

I would suggest using some type of lotion for comfort-it can get itchy as your skin stretches. I used Curel Motherhood lotion. I don't have any stretch marks on my stomach, but I got a few afterwards on my breasts from how much they stretched out w/milk and then breastfeeding. I don't think it's b/c of the lotion.

But preventing stretch marks? I think it is hereditary and nothing you do will prevent them. Sorry!

Hey! Congrats on your pregnancy, I am 3 months pregnant and have had 8 girlfriends all use this product called belli skin care, Elasticity Belly Oil that helps to prevent stretchmarks. Their doctor told them it was the safest to use, then I saw it on a current affair the other night as well. I read up all about in on their website and it talks heaps about what is safe, really interesting. None of my friends got ANY stretchmarks at all and swear by this for stopping stretch marks. I have only just started using it but so far so good! I ordered all of their other skin care for pregnancy as well from and LOVING it. Wish you all the best for the months ahead, we are together in the skin stretch J donít forget to join the VIP thing on their site before you order, you get a discount that way, i forgot myself but definitely worth it you get 15% off. Good luck.
