Default Stroller question for experienced moms..

OK, so I am at the point where I am beginning to browse online for things to register for...
I was wondering if anyone has any stroller advice. Is a travel system worth it? Should just get a frame for the infant seat and register for a different stroller? I am so confused by all of the choices!

i loved my travel system but then again my DD was in her infant seat until she was 16 months old

My DS on the other hand was out pretty qucikly but it still came in handy for a few months.

We have a ton of strollers though (umbrella, lightweight sport, jogging stroller, single stroller that was a travel system and a double stroller that was a travel system)

i have used them all at different times....i would go to the store and figure out which you like best.

When i only had one child I used the travel system stroller a lot.

I got the travel system for my first and liked it. He was only in the infant bucket seat for 4-5 months... so I don't think a frame infant carrier AND a stroller would have been worth the $$... especially when I didn't go out much for the first couple months except for dr's appts & short walks!!

Try them out & see what you like. Also see if the storage basket is accessable with the seat in the laying down position!!

I hated my travel system.

I ended up getting a snap-n-go from someone and I LOVED it!
I just snapped my regular bucket seat onto the snap-n-go and it was SO much easier than lugging that giant stroller in and out of the trunk every time I needed to stroll.

We had one bucket seat and two bases for our 2 cars and that was much easier too.

When the babies were old enough to sit up and not need the bucket seat (around 1 year usually) I switched to a fancy umbrella stroller because... again... of the space and size issue. I HATED trying to get that giant stroller out of my trunk.

When #2 came along, I switched to a sit-n-stand deluxe that was a double stroller and could accomodate the bucket seat on the front, and then when the older child was old enough, could just stand on the stand in back or sit in the jumper seat (the back seat converted from a full seat to just a jumper seat)
it was THE most versatile stroller ever invented and served me for many years.

I loved my travel system. Its a little heavy..but its great. DD was also in her infant car seat for her first year. Its so easy to turn quick corners and such. I do have an umbrella stroller as well.
