Exclamation Car Seat Recall

Comfy Carry & OnBoard 35

Voluntary Recall

Dorel Juvenile Group (DJG) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have issued a voluntary recall involving certain Safety 1st rear-facing infant child restraints. Our data indicates some consumers purchased an infant child restraint that did not include a base with the lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH). The models affected are IC123 FSM Comfy Carry Infant Child Restraint and IC124 FSM OnBoard 35 Infant Child Restraint manufactured from May 1, 2011 through April 25, 2012.

DJG will contact all registered owners and provide them with information on how to obtain a free infant base with LATCH. Consumers may visit our website at www.djgusa.com and click on the safety notice button at the top right hand corner of the page to determine if your infant child restraint is affected by this recall. Until consumers receive their free base with LATCH they can continue to use their infant child restraint as described in the instruction manual. The affected infant child restraints should not be returned to where it was obtained. DJG encourages consumer to obtain the free base with LATCH by clicking on the link below, calling us at 1-877-416-8111 Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM or sending us an email at infantlatchrecall@djgusa.com.

At any time a consumer may submit an inquiry or concern to: Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Avenue, SE, Washington, D.C. 20590 or call the toll free Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153) or go to http://www.safercar.gov, if the owner believes that DJG has failed to remedy the defect without charge or within a reasonable time (longer than 60 days).

DJG sincerely regrets any inconvenience this situation may have caused you.
