This morning I had a phone conference with Ana's teacher, she's in Second Grade now. It's the end of the marking period and she called with Ana's progress and grades. After she got done telling me everything, the teacher says "Your family must be avid readers!" I said, "Yes we are, how can you tell?" And she said "I have to constantly remind Ana to put her book away and get some work done! She is always carrying a book with her!" It just made me smile......hmmm...wonder where she get's that from!!!???

I love when little ones enjoy reading. Ben loves his books. I think reading is so important for them!

Your Ana sounds like me in school. I always had a book tucked under the edge of my desk for when we reviewed stuff I had already mastered.

I am hoping against hope that at least one of my boys will have the bug. We read every night, and so far they seem to like books, but I'm worried they might not. Dh reads a book or two a year.

Me too Rudi! Just tonight I was cooking dinner and reading at the same time. I really do think that if they see us parents reading, they will want to read as well.
