I have heard the following quote twice today, but I am struggling to find the hidden meaning of it. All I know is that it was written by Leonard Cohen. Does anyone know?

It's a song called "Anthem". I'd never heard about it, so I googled the phrase and Leonard Cohen. Here are the complete lyrics:

My interpretation - Nothing is perfect. There are flaws in everything, but the very imperfections are what brings understanding and hope.
