I've mentioned before I have a student who is in a wheelchair. She's someone everyone loves and the children are very protective of her. I've been reminding the kids to think about some of the things they take for granted-- like some were complaining about walking from place to place on our field trip, and I told them that I bet "M" would pay a millon dollars to be able to walk on the trip.
These 2 boys and I were talking about this very thing and they said, "You know Mrs. R, you'
re right ....and we've been thinking about this a lot and talking about it at recess a few times. You know that show, Pimp My Ride? Well we were thinking that we want to pimp out M's wheelchair. We want to paint flames on it and give her (insert car stuff that makes your car go fast here but it's escaping me right now). We also want to put hydrolics in it, and get her some big wheels so she can drive her chair anywhere."
I thought that was the sweetest thing ever!
