I'm lucky in that Dh and his ex have been divorced for almost 10 years and they had both moved way on before I came into the picture, so his ex is pretty pleasant to me. I would never say that we would be friends, but we have good mutual respect for each other and we don't have any of the ugly drama that sometimes accompanies these situations.

My fiance's ex left just a few months after their son was born. She's hasn't been seen or heard from in over 5 years so I don't have to stress bout her. Instead, I have my fiance's mom to compete with. She raised him while his dad was deployed. We have no idea what we're going to do when we get married and live away from them. Do we take his son with us? His Mama has been the main person to raise him for almost 6 years. Do we leave him with her? He still needs his dad around. But I guess these are the same things divorced couples deal with.

it depends what day you ask me that on! b/c truthfully, we never know what we are going to get when she is involved!
