Exclamation Herbs to avoid while pregnant

There are a lot of herbs that are too strong for a baby to handle (same with over the counter or prescription drugs) A lot of people have the idea that because herbs are natural they are completely safe at all times. I'm definitely one who thought that!

Great information! You might also add Red Raspberry Leaf in the first trimester.

I'm surprised I didn't remember that one. I had a lot of problems with people (mainly my mom who is a naturopathic doctor) telling me I needed to drink red raspberry leaf tea to help with my morning sickness with my first pregnancy. It is good to drink in the last trimester (gets your uterus in shape)

but NOT in the first!! Thank God my body was working right and told me "no way!" everytime I got close to the tea. Just the smell of it made me sick!

Tracey, Red Raspberry leaf??? Wow! I had been drinking it for awhile while ttc and I think I did a few times during my 2ww. The box says it is safe and "can be used during all stages...including pregnancy and while nursing."

Mine has calcium (6mg), magnesium(5mg), manganese(.6mg), potassium (25 mg) in it along with 1,500 mg of raspberry leaf. Where did you hear it was unsafe?

Btw, thanks Rebekah for the info!
