OTgrl needs to say hello
Default Bedtime concerns for my 2 year old

My newly turned 2 year old goes to bed pretty good, normally between 7:30-8:00. But, she ends up talking and singing for an hour or more. Last night, it was almost 10:00! She's not climbing out of bed or crying, just talking and singing. Is this okay? Any advice?

I would say it's time to limit the afternoon nap (or ditch the morning nap if you haven't already). Make that afternoon nap be 12-2 and you'll likely have her falling asleep faster in the evening.

My daughter sings to herself also - but we make sure she's getting enough sleep.

Our 3.5 year old DD, Charlotte, is a "party girl" at night.

Our girls go to bed around 8:30 and she'll sing or play in her bed sometimes past 10:30 or later.

She's very well-mannered and gets a good nap during the day so she's fine. Our pediatrician said that some kiddos are just on different schedules.

That's fine. I have a little girl who does the same thing. I'd make sure she isn't sleeping too long for her nap and if she has a night light maybe dim it a little and that might help. Just leave her be and she'll be fine and eventually probably quit.

Nap or no nap, Ashley always sings and talks for an hour or more. Don't worry about it too much - unless she is super cranky during the day,
