Default Am I pregnant?- please help

I am on the pill. My last normal period was June 24th 2012. We had sex on July 10th and I missed my pill. 1st time ever. Since then I have been exhausted, nauseous, headachy, bloated not sleeping and peeing a lot. My period was due on July 23rd. ARound the 18th I started spotting just a little brown blood. This is not normal for me so I was a little concerned of pregnancy. I took an early detection HPT test and it came back negative (the 22nd) On the 23rd I had brown/mucus type discharge but only when after wiping myself. This lasted a day at the most. From the 24th-25th I had a little pink blood only when I wiped. My symptoms kept getting worse now on top of the other symptoms I was experiencing on a daily basis my back started to ache and my tummy felt crampy but not period crampy. It just feels heavy and bloated. I took another test on the 26th and it came back negative. Today the 28th of July I noticed white discharge similar to what I experience when I ovulate. I took another test it was negative.

I have been talking to my mom and she said she experienced these symptoms when she was pregnant with all of 4 kids. The HPT tests never worked for her they always came back negative. She had to have the blood test to confirm- has anyone else experienced something like this?

If we are pregnant we will be ecstatic. We were not trying or planning on kids for a few more years but I told the bf and he was beaming and excited. But If I am not pregnant then he things we should wait until he is finished school before actively trying. Which makes sense. I just really want to be pregnant. What are the chances with all of those negative pregnancy tests? Also would the pill counteract my test results?

any help you can provide me would be great, thanks a bunch!

I've never heard of pills counteracting, but to put your mind at ease, just go to the doctor for the blood test.

Hi Lindsay,

It IS possible to get pregnant on the pill, especially if you missed some, or you used antibiotics at the same time. Your symptoms does seem like pregnancy however, it might be just a late period because of stress etc.

The best thing you can do at this point is acting as if you're pregnant until you see a doctor and get the blood test. Don't drink or smoke, and don't take any pills that can harm a fetus. Try to see the doctor first thing on Monday, so you will know what to do. And maybe use condoms as a backup method until things are clear.

This kind of pregnancy scares can happen to any sexually active woman, and luckily you have a supportive boyfriend and family. I'm sure whatever the outcome is, you will be in a good place. Take care!

When I was pregnant with my first, I had similiar issues with my "period" being weird but my pregnancy test came up positive on the first try. If you ARE pregnant and still taking The Pill, you need to find out that you're pregnant so you can STOP taking The Pill to avoid pregnancy complications and potential congential abnormalities.

I would suggest scheduling an appointment with your GYN or family doctor and have a blood test run immediately to find out what is going on.

I hope you get the result you want!
