  • Hi there!
I am new to this site, butI was wondering if I could get some advice. I have been married for a little over a year now, and have been ttc since then. Found out about 6 months into it, that I have a thyroid problem.
So now I am on synthroid and supposivley leavled out. I was wondering if anyone out there who has the same problem could give me some info on the connection between fertility and thyroid. Am I going to be able to conceive? Or will it take a lot longer then normal? Thanks to anyone who replies!

  • Hi! I am hypothyroid, but I found out before I started TTC and it is not a problem for me. A friend of mine who was TTC for a while found out she also had the same thing, and she got pg almost immediately after getting on medication for it. Do you know what your TSH level is? For fertility purposes, the ideal level is right around 1.5, even though a "normal" lab range is anywhere between .5 and 5.5.
There is lots of info on the web about it, just type "hypothyroid and fertility" into your search engine and a lot will come up. There is also a good book called [ILiving Well with Hypothyroidism[/I] that discusses it.

    Good luck!

    Good luck!

  • Hey!
Thanks for the info! That really helped. I called my clinic and they are going to call me back with my TSH level number. So I guess I will go from there!
Thanks alot for the quick reply!!
