My husband and I saw a fertility specialist before we got pregnant- and he recommended a low fat diet with lots of vegetable protein, lean meats, and fish. Full fat dairy products are supposed to help fertility as well. I am a vegetarian so I was already pretty much following it, but it was recommended to us so I thought I would share.

It's beneficial for you both to start eating whole grains (for the fibre, B vitamins and vitamin E), fruits & vegetables (for the Vitamin C, and antioxidants), lean meats & beans (for the protein, zinc and iron). Low-fat dairy (for the protein and calcium) and also omega-3 (from oily fish like salmon).

You both also might want to look at taking a multivitamin with 400 mcg of folic acid (although you'll need one without vitamin A). Folic acid is beneficial to both men and women. It goes without saying that you should both cut-down or cut-out alcohol, stop smoking, and you'll need to cut out caffeine. Drinking lots of water is also a must!

I hope this has helped, and good luck with TTC!!
