Default Can it happen ?

Can I get pg 1st month after bcp ? I'm cd8 when should I start OPK since I do not know what my cyle will be ? thanks

Yes, you can get pregnant right after finishing bcp, and there is no danger to doing so. Most doctors recommend being off the pill for three months so you get a decent idea of what your cycle is like. If you can't remember how long your cycles were before you started on the pill, you might want to start using OPK at CD9 or CD10. This could get expensive, though, as women with longer cycles may not o until CD20 or even later.

To save yourself some expense on opk, I recommend getting a basal thermometer and a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. This is a much less expensive way to understand your cycle and predict the best days for conception.

It happened to me. We went off birth control in late July 2002 with the intention of TTC in August. I found out I was pregnant on Sept 2 and our first DD was born April 2003. So it can happen!
