Thumbs down Choosing gyn

So I have decided that my gyn doesn't want to treat me. After listening to what your doctors did before sending you to a re, and my doctor not doing any of those test. I am scared about going to a re so I am just going to switch doctors to see if another doctor can do something different.

I live in a smaller town and there are only like 5 gyns. I have done research on all of them but I don't really know what I am looking for.

Question being....what do you consider when choosing a doctor??

For me, it was mainly gender. I found my OB when I was in college. I knew I wanted a female doctor and her name was the first I saw. I lucked out because she's totally fantastic!!

I'd ask around for recommendations. I've referred about 8 friends to my doctor and they all love her. Nothing is more reliable than personal recommendations.

If all else fails, interview them like you would a pediatrician. Make an appointment, ask questions to which you really want to know the answers, and pick the one who feels the most "right".

Those are good ideas.

Why are you scared of an RE?

I agree, interview them all. When you're TTC you need to make sure that they have good experience (and also a good track record) of working with infertility, otherwise it's like trying to buy a car in a butchers!!

Also don't rule out the option of moving to a RE, they are TTC specialists, and the best qualified to put you on the road to getting that BFP!

I am scared because I don't want to hear what they have to say. I know I am just delaying what I am going to have to hear eventually but I am hoping that maybe I won't have to hear it at all. My sister sees an herbalist and she talked to her herbalist and told me abuncha vitamins to take to help out.
