  • Glad we can all help. I waited until AF was almost a week late to test- many women on here have had BFP's at 10 days past ovulation- but that can be rare. I was tired of testing and getting negatives so I waited until I was nice and late! We also thought we had a long road of fertility treatments and didn't think we would get pregnant without IUI or IVF so we were pretty surprised. Pleasantly of course!

  • I'm sorry girls. I'm rather young and I haven't the slightest idea of what all this slang term means. (PCOS, DTD, BD, IUI.)??? I have never had an ultra sound, actually. Only blood work. I've always had an unusually late period, since I was 11. I can go about seven months without, and then get one for nearly a month, like I'm dying...it's insane. I'm so confused!

  • I'm still a little confused about the use of Clomid if anyone can help explain ~ for instance my cycles are fairly regular averaging around 28 days plus or minus a few days. I usually can see my temp rise after O but still no luck with anything happening. Would my doc prescribe Clomid to help increase the chances of something happening ?? Or when is this med. indicated to use ??? Help!

  • LilMamaRios, PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It causes you to have missed periods, heavy cramps, increase hair growth, skin tags, Look it up online and you will get loads of information. DTD means Doing the dance, BD means baby dance, and IUI means Interuterine Insemination. Hope that helps

Jenisuzy doctors usually will not put you on Clomid unless you have tried for a year or over the age of 35 or have a known cause for infertility such as PCOS or endometriosis.
Ladies I hope this helps if not ask away!

  • I was wondering about the whole clomid thing too. April will be one year TTC. I was thinking of asking my doc to try me on it so I would o earlier because it is usually around cd 17 or 18 and with a 29 day cycle, that is to short of a luteal phase to sustain a pregnancy. Plus I really think I need extra progesterone in suppository form or something. Has anyone had to use those?
LilmamiRios- you will eventually 'get' all the abreviations. I was clueless at the beginning. But I think I understand most of them now.
