Default Clomid & injection

My doctor was not very clear.....I'm hoping someone hear can explain it better.

I am to take 50MG of Clomid starting on Day 3-7. I am supposed to call them when I start my period to set up the ultrasound. I'm thinking it's for a week after my last pill. I am to get an ultrasound & if all is well I will be given an injection. The next day I go back for my insemination.
1. Do I use an ovulation kit?
2. What is the injection for?
3. Do I still wait two weeks after insemination to take a pegnancy test?
4. I'm really small so I am kinda worried about twins or triplets. Does anyone know a wensite to determine risks? I am trying to find out for my height/weight if it is possible for me to carry multiple babies or not.
5. What are hot flashes like? Am I just gonna sweat or will I want to take cold baths...like I have a fever. Do hot flashes last a long time or are they fleeting?

I'm sure one of the ladies that knows more about fertility meds is on tonight to help you! I just wanted to say "hi"

They should do the ultrasound to see how many possible eggs you'll have released and if the risk is too much I think they won't do the insemination. You should wait 10-12 days after the insemination to take the hpt! Does anyone actually have the patience to wait the full 14?

I had an IUI a few months ago. Then we had to save up more money. We have the money now for three tries. Then we are done. The 1st time I was testing on day 8 or 9. I knew it wouldn't show up but at least it was something to do.
Since we only have a few tries we decided to do drugs now. The doctor wanted us to try 4 times before drugs but I told him unless he was paying then we had to go with drugs on the 2nd try. I have to increase my odds! I started my period on July 17th. My cycles run from 25-32 days so I could start anytime in the next week.

I can try to answer some the best I can!
1. you should not need an ovulation kit because the dr will monitor the follicles (eggs) on ultra sound and the injection will make you ovulate with in 24 -48 hours so they will know exactly when you ovulate
2. the injection I am guessing will be HCG. that will make the follicles ovulate with in 24 - 48 hours so that it is easy to time the Insemination
3. it could take less then 14 days to show a positive or negative on a hpt test but with the injection of hcg you get a false positive so they say to wait until it's out of your system so that if it is positive you will know it's not from the HCG
4. I donít know of a website to determine risks? but when you go for your ultra sound the dr will tell you your chances for twins or more by the number of follicles and then you can talk about if it would be safe or not.
5. well hot flashes are just like when you get real hot out in the heat. you may sweat and fell like you just walked into a sauna. the time is different for everyone It could last hours or just seconds. for me most the time it was just a few seconds. I got them a lot in my sleep.

Hot flashes sound yucky. I'll be sleeping close to the air conditioner. LOL
Did you ever have side effects from the HCG? I'm gonna go research it. They call me the Research Queen.
